Heya!

I love my blog, I want to inspire you all to go fish and live the life of a fisherman! The bad thing is, I think someone spam clicked my ads, and my Adsense was taken away. I have reported it to Google, but if it doesn't get appealed then I am sadly going to have to stop blogging. I do love blogging, but I love incentive too. I was wanting to blog to make a few extra bucks on the side of my job and at the same time inspire a few of you guys. If I do get my Adsense back I will post a few pictures of my beach trip. :)

My Favorite Marine Mammal

Antillean manatee courtesy of Wikipedia
The manatee, also known as the sea cow, is my favorite marine mammal. They are probably called the "sea cow" because of their awesome shape, friendliness, and way of life. All that these friendly slow critters do is grub on seaweed and other types of plant-life that are present on the sea-floor. These animals are known to not be smart, but recent studies have shown that they have a long-term memory. What's sad is the amount of manatees and dugongs being killed by humans. These cute things are always getting tangled up in fishing lines and other man-made objects and then being killed by boat engine propellers. At one time they were hunted near Africa, but most of it has stopped in modern times.

My Passion for the Blog

I would like to label my passions for this blog. I like to fish, and I am an avid fisherman. Not only am I an avid fisherman, but I also love history. To be exact, maritime history! I love to read articles about the Titanic and I loved to read about what the Lusitania was actually carrying on that faithful voyage. I also love marine biology! My favorite marine animal has to be the dugong! :)

My Favorite Submarine

U.S.S Nautilus SSN-571 courtesy of Wikipedia.org
My favorite submarine, or Navy submarine, would have to be the USS Nautilus. It is one of my favorites because it broke the rules for submarine warfare. The USS Nautilus was the first nuclear-powered submarine. Not only was it a ground-breaking modern marvel, but it was also a strategic resource. The Navy could now swiftly move under the depths of the ocean to wherever it wanted, whenever it wanted, and however long it wanted with no refueling. At the time the powering of maritime vessels was common place in the mechanical community with the Soviet Icebreaker, the NS Lenin, being the first; however, this was certainly no icebreaker. This was considered a vessel of war, and the only ice it was breaking was the ice at the table of U.S-Soviet affairs.

Results From My Fishing Trip!

As all of you may know, I went of my Sunday night fishing trip last night! Sorry about not having any pictures, but my old Sony camera from the 90s doesn't seem to work anymore. If any of you guys are wondering, I caught two fish last night! Both of them being Pompanos, those fish have seriously been biting lately! Soon I will be investing in a Canon T3 for the blog. I was going to ask you guys if you know any other cameras around the same price range that might be better than the T3. Leave it in the comments if you do know! :)

Gone Fishin' on a Sunday Night!

I'm about to go on my Sunday night fishing trip adventure! I'll hopefully post what I caught when I get back on here tomorrow. If I can get my old dusty camera to work! :)

The Deep Sea Challenge

The Deep Sea Challenge
http://deepseachallenge.com/

So yesterday I was reading up on the new Deep Sea Challenge submarine and its quest to go to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. I was enthralled to hear that the mission was a success, and I was even more enthralled when I heard the pilot of the vessel was none other than James Cameron himself. That amazed me so much, all of my life I've wanted to pilot a submarine, and here a great movie star can take one to the bottom of the deepest point on Earth. We've come so far in the research of submarines that today someone with the intelligence of a dog can pilot one. To me, that's an awesome thing! This means that someone like myself can just hop into a submarine and venture the deep. That brings me to another question, what if everyone in the world had access to a submarine? The bulk of knowledge that we could obtain about something that we know so little about!

The Angler Fish!

Humpback Angler Fish

This fish is one of my favorite fish! The angler fish is such an odd one that lives so deep in the depths of the ocean. The video, thanks to National Geographic, shows one of the weirdest fishes ever in action! The picture here shows a humpback angler fish, the fish is certainly a rare and puzzling find. The unique characteristic is the stem coming from its nostrils. The stem lights its way and finds food for the illustrious beast. I find that to be amazing and awesome! The sea is full of scary gems for us to discover!

The First Post

This is my first post on my new blog! Yippie! I hope you guys like the background, as it took forever for me to make it! I will be blogging pictures of the sea soon! :D
